Where Does Most of Ricketts's Campaign Support Come From? Quick Answer: NOT NEBRASKA

Ricketts's team reported about 400 Nebraskans donated to his 2024 campaign. His peer, Sen. Deborah Fischer reported about 915 donors from Nebraska. Dan Osborn, who ran against Fischer, had 4,365 Nebraskan donors, more than three times as many donors from Nebraska as Fischer and Ricketts combined. Ricketts rustled up some people named Ricketts (seven others, though he donated significant $$ himself) who chipped in over $650,000.

That'd be a boatload for me and probably for you, too. But perhaps that's not so grandiose, considering Ricketts himself made over $5 million in stock speculation in December 2025 alone.

I won't hold it against Ricketts that most of his contributions came from outside Nebraska. Most U.S. Senate candidates have the same algebra. It's a national office and whoever sits in the seat will affect whatever state the donor is from so that's rational.

But it IS a tribute to Osborn did such a brilliant job inspiring thousands of regular, non-millionaire Nebraskans to give money that represented from two hours to a day of take-home pay. Richie Rich, not so much.
